The stylishly restored two-bedroom apartment sits in a fantastic spot near the greenery of Hollow Ponds, but also within easy reach of the buzzing amenities found around Leyton, Leytonstone and Walthamstow.

As well as the great location, highlights include the beautiful colour palette, period features, abundance of natural light and and a private garden at the rear.

IF YOU LIVED HERE…

With Walthamstow Village to the north, Leyton to the west, Leytonstone to the south and Hollow Ponds to the east, you can walk in almost any direction and find somewhere interesting to explore, ranging from award-winning eateries to nature trails. But of course, your favourite view will be when you’re stretching out at home…

Your blush pink reception room has been beautifully preserved, with custom carpentry and a striking fireplace alcove with wood burning stove, all bathed in light from the generously-sized windows.

Both bedrooms are solid doubles, with the smart layout meaning that not an inch of space is wasted - and either bedroom can be used as a second reception or home office if preferred.

The kitchen hits the sweet spot between being characterful but also modern, with its metro brick tiles, timber worktops, shaker units and vintage-style fittings. This theme is continued in the bathroom, where you’ll find an over-tub shower.

Outside, you’ll find your own private garden. It’s a peaceful spot, but there’s plenty of greenery further beyond, ranging from Abbotts Park to Epping Forest.

If you need to escape further afield, you can reach Leyton Midland Road in just ten minutes, where the overground runs between Gospel Oak and Barking line, allowing easy interchange to the tube network. Buses are also plentiful, with routes running on Lea Bridge Road and Leyton High Road. Walthamstow Central is only 1.2 miles away for the excellent Victoria line too.

WHAT ELSE?

- You’ve got a choice of great local pubs in nearly all directions, including the buzzing William The Fourth on the Leyton High Road (10 mins), the award-winning Castle in Walthamstow Village (15 mins) and the charming Sir Alfred Hitchcock Hotel on the edge of Hollow Ponds (16 mins).
-You won’t ever be stuck for essential items thanks to the great selection of convenience stores on Leyton High Road. Tesco Superstore is a short walk away.
-You’re only a short stretch from Stratford on the bus, where you’ll of course find Westfield, as well as the Olympic Park.

a word from the owner...

"We have loved living at Canterbury Road for a number of reasons. The street has a really friendly feel with lots of families and amazing neighbours who made us feel super welcome! Transport links are fantastic, with journeys both into central London and out of the city being incredibly easy. Both Walthamstow Village and Francis Road are within easy walking distance, so we’ve had a number of great restaurants, cafes, pubs and shops at our disposal! Hollow Ponds is just a 15 minute walk, giving a wonderful feeling of immediate countryside to London living. The flat itself has been a cosy and comfortable home, with the woodburning stove keeping us warm through the winter. In Summertime, the large private garden has been amazing, the figs and cherries being an added bonus! There is plenty of storage outside in the 2 sheds - what feels like a rarity in London. It’s been a perfect home for us over the last couple of years and we’ll be sorry to say goodbye to it! "

Our Local Guide:
Leyton

Canterbury Road, Leyton — Stow Brothers

Assured locals barely bat an eyelid when the national press dub Leyton one of ‘best places to live’ in London – it’s been a regular feature since the 2012 London Olympics regeneration, but the area’s constant evolution means even frequent visitors can get taken aback by just how much it has going on.

With the lively cafes on Francis Road, the bustling High Road, the family-friendly footie action and easy access to the Olympic Park, Leyton can often feel like a city within a city. What’s more, these various layers work together to create a balanced community that comes free of any pretension, so even newbies can find themselves having a natter with the locals while they explore Leyton’s latest delights. It’s an easy reach too, with the Central line connecting Leyton with the city to the west, and leafy Essex to the east.

Transport links

There’s no ‘late’ in Leyton thanks to the excellent transport links. Leyton tube is on the Central line with direct trains into the City and Central London, while Leyton Midland Road is handily placed on the Overground line, as is the new-ish Lea Bridge station.

Great Pubs

Whether you want a quiet pint in the sunshine or a night of banging tunes, Leyton has you covered for pubs. With The Leyton Star, The Coach & Horses, William the Fourth, locals and visitors are spoilt for choice.

Plenty of period property

Leyton’s amenities might be largely new additions, but a lot of the property is gloriously old. Victorian and Edwardian houses are plentiful - including budget-friendly ‘doer-uppers’, and the wide tree-lined streets add further appeal.
