1 Bedroom

Spread out over two floors with a south-facing garden and outbuilding, this immaculately finished one-bedroom home is located in one of Walthamstow’s loveliest - and most convenient - spots.

Nestled between the charming Walthamstow Village, Lloyd Park and Walthamstow Central, you can walk five minutes in almost any direction and find yourself surrounded by top-class amenities, including the station, where you can nip to the West End or Liverpool St in around 20 minutes.

IF YOU LIVED HERE…

You’ll love the sense of space that this two-storey home provides. You’re set up well with open plan kitchen/reception - great for spreading out in, and the breakfast bar creates the perfect visual divide between the spaces. The decor is pristine throughout, and you’ll appreciate the sweeping flooring, which adds to the sense of space. In the kitchen area, the shake-style units are smart yet traditional with vintage style fittings, while the charming butler basin and timber worktops contrast beautifully.

On the first floor, the bedroom is just as smartly finished, with custom storage and lovely features such as the column radiator. The modern bathroom shares the same traditional charm, and at the rear in the south-facing garden you’ll find a convenient outbuilding, which has been brilliantly designed, with beautiful wallpaper inside - the perfect retreat. The garden itself is south-facing, housing some gorgeous planters and seating areas.

As for beyond, we think you’ll agree that ‘Poets Corner’ is one of loveliest sounding neighbourhoods in London. Part of a small group of neighbouring streets in Walthamstow named after poets, such as John Aubrey and John Milton, Byron Road is just as tranquil as you’d imagine. However, despite being on a peaceful, tree-lined street, you only have to walk a few minutes down your road to enjoy Hoe Street’s thriving food and drink scene. Choose between the award-winning Yard Sale Pizza, Sodo and Shri Lakshmi if you fancy dining out or ordering takeaway to have in your fantastic home.

If exercise is on the agenda as well as food, you’ll be pleased to hear that there are some excellent facilities, including yoga studio East of Eden and modern leisure centre the Feel Good Centre. Don’t forget that you’re just a short hop and a skip from Lloyd Park, where you’ll find a skate park, playground, tennis courts, bowls club, dog park, cafes and the William Morris Gallery (which is, of course, the former home of the founder the Arts and Crafts Movement).

WHAT ELSE?

- Head to Walthamstow Central for Europe’s longest market which runs along Walthamstow High Street, as well 17&Central shopping centre, which has a fantastic food court operated by CRATE, and mini golf, as well as convenient chains.
- There’s a buzz in the air about Soho Theatre Walthamstow, a 1000 seat performance space that will be home to world-class entertainment when it opens in 2023 - and it’ll be around a quarter of a mile from your front door.
- While you wait for the Soho Theatre Walthamstow to open, you can still enjoy some excellent entertainment at the wonderfully eclectic Trades Hall, a favoured spot for renowned comedians to perform warm-up sets. Ye Olde Rose & Crown also puts on some excellent shows, including annual pantos. Both venues are a few mins on foot.

a word from the owner...

"Nestled in the heart of Walthamstow's Poet's Corner, my maisonette has been more than just a place to live; it's been my home of 8+ years and a lovely space to relax and entertain. One of the things I've cherished most is transforming the spacious garden into a relaxing and enjoyable space. It catches the sun beautifully, making it the perfect spot for growing chillis and tomatoes, and I've loved hosting friends and throwing BBQs. The property faces east, catching the rising sun in the morning, and I love waking up to the warm glow to every room. Living here, you're at the heart of a community that celebrates creativity and connection. Just a stroll away, you'll find bustling markets, quaint cafes, and unique shops that embody the spirit of Walthamstow. Poet's Corner isn't just a neighbourhood; it's a community teeming with life, including an annual street party. I have loved living here, and transforming it into a practical, comfortable space. I hope the next resident loves it as much as I do!"

Our Local Guide:
Walthamstow

Byron Road, Walthamstow — Stow Brothers

Situated on the edge of spacious Epping Forest, but every inch urban London, Walthamstow is one of those rare locations where you can have your (artisan) cake and eat it too.

Built from proper East End roots, the rapidly expanding community has transformed the area into a buzzy, creative hub and destination in its own right, making Walthamstow’s close proximity to central London less relevant than it perhaps once was (although if you must leave, it’s only a short hop on the Victoria line or London Overground). In fact, these days you’re more likely to see daytrippers coming into the area, keen to sample its varied offerings of food, drink, culture and green space. However, lucky locals get the added benefit of being part of a genuinely cheery community – and amongst the first to know about that latest hot new opening.
