We’ve been so thankful for the easy access to the green lung of Epping Forest and Hollow Pond for romantic walks, family bike rides and sweaty runs, with the 5km loop of the Hornbeam Trail loop literally outside the backdoor. What truly makes Buxton House special is the unique mix of residents that make up a community that go out of their way to help each other and become fast friends via scheduled meet-ups in the communal gardens."

Wanstead

Thanks to its royal connections and grand properties, Wanstead has previously been compared to the likes of Twickenham and Richmond, although East Londoners are quick to point out that it has plenty enough merits of its own. 

For a start, despite its villagey feel, it’s proudly nestled within London’s most creative quadrant and only a short hop on the Central line from the bright lights of the City. There’s also an abundance of green space – Wanstead Flats, Epping Forest, Wanstead Park and Chalet Wood, with the seasonal display of bluebells in the latter just calling out for an accompanying picnic from one of the well-stocked local delis or cafes. But that’s not to say that Wanstead’s charming pubs and restaurants aren’t delightful to look at themselves – it’ll be deciding which to go for that’s the problem.
