Totalling seventy feet in length, there's potential to extend out here, should you wish.

Back inside and head up the stairs for your huge 200 square foot principal bedroom, it's home to another bow window and built-in storage with integrated home working space. Elsewhere on this floor you've two more bright and immaculate double bedrooms, one with a glorious period hearth, plus the family bathroom enjoying a shower over the tub and separate WC. Up one more flight of stairs for your 155 square foot penthouse bedroom with a skylight, under eaves storage, incredible rooftop view and handy en suite shower room.

Here you're half a mile stroll from Wanstead High Street, flanked by green space and bursting with excellent bars, restaurants and gourmet pubs. Peckish? The Larder's a bustling gem of a cafe with incredible patisserie serving up an array of vegetarian delights. a word from the owners...

"This property has been in our family for 75 years. We have lived here for 35 years raising our children who benefited from being educated at the excellent local schools. We have been very happy here and enjoyed the local amenities including the large green spaces in the area as well as the excellent access to transport systems both into and out of London. More recently we have enjoyed the cafe culture of the local High Street. Now that we are retired we have also enjoyed cultivating one of the very local allotments. One of the things we have enjoyed about our home is the fact that we are not overlooked at the front and the property at the rear is also quite distant. More recently electric charging points have been added across the road which is very useful. We now find that it is time to downsize and move closer to our family and hope that someone will be as happy here as we have been."

Our Local Guide:
Wanstead

Buckingham Road, Wanstead — Stow Brothers

Thanks to its royal connections and grand properties, Wanstead has previously been compared to the likes of Twickenham and Richmond, although East Londoners are quick to point out that it has plenty enough merits of its own.

For a start, despite its villagey feel, it’s proudly nestled within London’s most creative quadrant and only a short hop on the Central line from the bright lights of the City. There’s also an abundance of green space – Wanstead Flats, Epping Forest, Wanstead Park and Chalet Wood, with the seasonal display of bluebells in the latter just calling out for an accompanying picnic from one of the well-stocked local delis or cafes. But that’s not to say that Wanstead’s charming pubs and restaurants aren’t delightful to look at themselves – it’ll be deciding which to go for that’s the problem.
