With onward destinations including Leyton, Stratford, Hoxton, Shoreditch, Liverpool Street, Oxford Circus and King's Cross, the city's your jewellery box.

IF YOU LIVED HERE...

You'll be stepping past fragrant jasmine and that distinctive arch through your own sage green front door. Inside and you'll find the 130 square foot lounge to the rear - a south-facing, light-filled space with twin windows framing a lush green backdrop. Walls are pristine white, timber boards flow underfoot and a vintage fireplace with matching hearth take centre stage. On to your bathroom, gorgeous in green and white hues, with a rainfall shower over the tub, built-in storage and traditional fixtures and fittings.

Next up is your eat-in kitchen, home to an immaculate suite of dove grey units sitting against a gleaming white metro tiled backsplash. Countertops are sturdy timber, flooring light turquoise, and the breakfast bar's a brilliant place to enjoy croissants and coffee before running to meetings. Step outside here for your own, forty foot stretch of south-facing garden complete with patio, lawn and colourful beds. Back inside and this charming abode's completed by two generous double bedrooms in striking, on-trend palettes.

Outside and Lloyd Park's on your doorstep to explore at your leisure. Culture vultures will love the world-renowned designs on show at the William Morris Gallery (local lad William Morris was born at Elm House, which was demolished in 1898 and is now marked by a blue plaque at the fire station on Forest Road), while lovers of street food will be devouring diverse delicacies at the Saturday Farmers' market. A ten minute walk through the park will bring you to Bell Corner, where there's always something new to see and do on Hoe Street and central Walthamstow. Take in a film at the Empire cinema or Instagram your way through an afternoon at the neon wonderland that is God's Own Junkyard, tucked away in The Village.

a word from the owner...

"As well as being one of the prettiest streets in Walthamstow, Brettenham Road is also one of the friendliest, and we'll be very sad to move away from our amazing neighbours who have come to feel like a real community. Not to mention having beautiful Lloyd Park as our own (second!) back garden. The flat has been the perfect place in which to grow our family. It's full of light, and there is nothing better than having a drink in the garden on sunny evenings. The location is wonderful, being in the leafy, quiet Warner Estate, but still in walking distance of Wood Street, Walthamstow Village, the Wetlands, and the ever-evolving Blackhorse Road area, with its bars, bakeries and pop-ups. Transport links are great too, with Walthamstow Central for the tube and overground, and the North Circular for trips further afield. We've been really happy here and we are sure the next owners will be too."

Our Local Guide:
Walthamstow

Brettenham Road, Walthamstow — Stow Brothers

Situated on the edge of spacious Epping Forest, but every inch urban London, Walthamstow is one of those rare locations where you can have your (artisan) cake and eat it too.

Built from proper East End roots, the rapidly expanding community has transformed the area into a buzzy, creative hub and destination in its own right, making Walthamstow’s close proximity to central London less relevant than it perhaps once was (although if you must leave, it’s only a short hop on the Victoria line or London Overground). In fact, these days you’re more likely to see daytrippers coming into the area, keen to sample its varied offerings of food, drink, culture and green space. However, lucky locals get the added benefit of being part of a genuinely cheery community – and amongst the first to know about that latest hot new opening.
