"Buying our Walthamstow flat was one of the best decisions we’ve ever made. We’ve lived on Brettenham Road for almost 9 years, only leaving now so we can be closer to family on the south coast. We love the character and spacious feel of our Warner Flat, which gets huge amounts of natural light, particularly in the two bedrooms. We’ve felt especially lucky to have the garden, which is a real sun-trap in the summer, and the perfect spot for a BBQ. Like many parts of Walthamstow, there’s a terrific sense of community on our road, with everyone looking out for each other. This is embodied by the road WhatsApp group, where neighbours share advice, tips and recommendations. Our corner of Walthamstow has so much to offer. We’ll particularly miss having beautiful Lloyd Park on our doorstep (the weekly farmer’s/street food market is ace!), plus amazing pubs, cafés, and facilities like the Feel Good Leisure Centre within short walking distance. Travel-wise, it’s a short hop to Walthamstow Central via one of four buses from the end of Brettenham Road, or a 20-minute stroll through Lloyd Park. We’ve loved making the most of London life thanks to the speedy Victoria line, while also being so close to green spaces like Epping Forest and Walthamstow Wetlands, which is ideally positioned for a post-walk pint on the Blackhorse Beer Mile. The flat has been the perfect place to start our family, and we’ll be really sad to leave, especially as Walthamstow just keeps getting better and better!"

Situated on the edge of spacious Epping Forest, but every inch urban London, Walthamstow is one of those rare locations where you can have your (artisan) cake and eat it too. 

Built from proper East End roots, the rapidly expanding community has transformed the area into a buzzy, creative hub and destination in its own right, making Walthamstow’s close proximity to central London less relevant than it perhaps once was (although if you must leave, it’s only a short hop on the Victoria line or London Overground). In fact, these days you’re more likely to see daytrippers coming into the area, keen to sample its varied offerings of food, drink, culture and green space. However, lucky locals get the added benefit of being part of a genuinely cheery community – and amongst the first to know about that latest hot new opening.
