3 Bedrooms

2 Baths

Bursting with character and vintage charm, this three bedroom ex-Warner maisonette sits just moments from Lloyd Park. Arranged over two floors, all the features that make this such a timeless, iconic design remain very much in evidence.

Conceived by Walthamstow's first mayor, Sir Thomas Courtenay Warner, these distinctive, rock solid, red brick apartments remain some of the most popular housing around, and a real Walthamstow hallmark.

IF YOU LIVED HERE

You'll be enjoying all the benefits of this iconic design, with your own dedicated front door under that signature arch. Artfully developed inside, your first floor lounge is an impressive 180 square feet, awash with natural light from a triple set of sash windows, a striking ebony hearth taking centre stage and gorgeous vintage timber floorboards run underfoot.

The original flooring flows on into the hallway, into both first floor bedrooms - each a solid double - and your sizeable kitchen/diner to the rear. Pale eggshell cabinets line the walls, topped with chunky white counters and home to a Dublin sink. Your first bathroom completes the storey, with vintage fittings including a brass rainfall shower over the tub.

Head up your striking and characterful forest green timber staircase for your penthouse suite. The 170 foot principal sleeper is dual aspect and awash with natural light, a large skylight sitting at one end and an oversized window framing leafy garden views at the other. A wealth of eaves storage adds to the sense of serenity, everything can have its place here. Finally your skylit en suite wet-room is a marvel with slate grey hexagonals and brass fittings.

WHAT ELSE?

- The open green spaces and landscaped gardens of Lloyd Park are less than five minutes away on foot. Perfect for morning jogs, evening strolls or exercising furry friends, it's also home to all manner of sports clubs and classes.
- Did we mention your garden? Accessed via a set of internal stairs, it's a wonderfully secluded deck, surrounded by thriving greenery and barely overlooked.
- For your new local we have to recommend The Dog & Duck, a charming, family friendly gastropub just two minutes down the road. Tuck into a signature sourdough pizza in one of their beer garden's beach huts.

a word from the owners.......

"288 Brettenham Road has been the perfect place to grow our family. We've loved our time here and will miss everything about it, especially the view of the chimney tops and changing seasons in Lloyd Park from the loft window. Sunny mornings in the kitchen will be missed, too."

Our Local Guide:
Walthamstow

Brettenham Road, Walthamstow — Stow Brothers

Situated on the edge of spacious Epping Forest, but every inch urban London, Walthamstow is one of those rare locations where you can have your (artisan) cake and eat it too.

Built from proper East End roots, the rapidly expanding community has transformed the area into a buzzy, creative hub and destination in its own right, making Walthamstow’s close proximity to central London less relevant than it perhaps once was (although if you must leave, it’s only a short hop on the Victoria line or London Overground). In fact, these days you’re more likely to see daytrippers coming into the area, keen to sample its varied offerings of food, drink, culture and green space. However, lucky locals get the added benefit of being part of a genuinely cheery community – and amongst the first to know about that latest hot new opening.
