a word from the owner...

"I absolutely loved living in the leafy area of Aldersbrook. It’s perfect for raising a young family, with a Children’s Centre nearby and Aldersbrook Primary School, which has fantastic staff and engaging activities. Wanstead Park is beautiful, featuring seasonal trees and lakes where children can feed the birds. Spring brings baby ducklings, and the tea hut offers hot drinks or ice cream year-round. There’s an outdoor theatre in summer on the Temple grounds, and the area is great for walking, running, or cycling, with horse riding stables nearby. Aldersbrook is well-connected to public transport for easy access to central London and Heathrow, with Leytonstone and Wanstead stations just 10 minutes by bus. Wanstead town is a 20-25 minute walk or a quick 5-10 minute bus ride away."

Our Local Guide:
Wanstead

Brading Crescent, Wanstead — Stow Brothers

Thanks to its royal connections and grand properties, Wanstead has previously been compared to the likes of Twickenham and Richmond, although East Londoners are quick to point out that it has plenty enough merits of its own.

For a start, despite its villagey feel, it’s proudly nestled within London’s most creative quadrant and only a short hop on the Central line from the bright lights of the City. There’s also an abundance of green space – Wanstead Flats, Epping Forest, Wanstead Park and Chalet Wood, with the seasonal display of bluebells in the latter just calling out for an accompanying picnic from one of the well-stocked local delis or cafes. But that’s not to say that Wanstead’s charming pubs and restaurants aren’t delightful to look at themselves – it’ll be deciding which to go for that’s the problem.
