A strikingly appointed two double bedroom, first floor ex-Warner apartment with spacious rooms and shared garden. Blackhorse Road station is just three minutes' walk from your front door, for the speediest of commutes into central London.

These red brick homes, the brainchild of Walthamstow's former mayor Sir Thomas Courtenay Warner, were built at the turn of the twentieth century. Their versatile layout, dedicated front door below that distinctive arch, and own section of rear garden make them extremely popular to this day.

IF YOU LIVED HERE...

You'll step past that handsome frontage, through your sage green front door and climb the stairs to find your huge 180 square foot lounge directly in front of you. In here you'll get your first glimpse of the delectably refined colour palette on display at every turn. Aegean blue walls run right up to the ceiling moulding, a triple set of windows illuminate the proceedings, and a cast iron vintage fireplace serves as a fine focal point.

Next door, bedroom one is 105 square feet with an on-trend ochre ceiling setting off the timber floorboards, plus a garden view. Your bathroom comes with a walk-in shower cubicle, the kitchen with beautiful black units and gleaming white metro tiles. Step out of the door here to access your own section of garden a lengthy stretch of lush lawn. Back inside, your principal bedroom comes in at 120 square feet and is home to a bay window, impeccable white walls, and a garden view.

Outside and Stoneydown Park's landscaped gardens are a few steps away anytime you fancy immersing yourself in nature. Blackhorse Road station is three minutes on foot and will get you directly to Kings Cross in fifteen via the Victoria line. You're practically at the top of the line here so will always get a seat. Heading to the City? St James Street overground station is ten minutes' walk and will get you straight to Liverpool Street in twenty.

WHAT ELSE?

- London's largest nature reserve, the 500 acre Walthamstow Wetlands, begins five minutes away on foot anytime you fancy surrounding yourself with blue waters and birdsong.
- The Blackhorse Beer Mile sits seven minutes' stroll north. An ever-expanding collection of independent breweries, taprooms and beer gardens, it's a great spot to catch up with friends.
- Ofsted has rated sixteen schools located within a one mile radius as 'Good' or better, including Willowfield School just a few doors down the street. Three of the sixteen have 'Outstanding' status.

a word from the owner...

“Our time living here has been so special. We’ve particularly enjoyed summer evening walks to Walthamstow Marshes, drinks at the various breweries just up the road, and raucous dinner parties in the living room. Being so close to the tube has also been so useful, particularly when coming home late at night. We’d originally planned to stay much longer, so we renovated the whole place to a high standard - think Farrow & Ball! If we weren’t moving, we’d also convert the loft to create even more living space and give the garden a makeover. Blackhorse Road has been the perfect place to make our first home together. Walthamstow has stolen our hearts, and we won’t be going far.”

Our Local Guide:
Walthamstow

Blackhorse Road, Walthamstow — Stow Brothers

Situated on the edge of spacious Epping Forest, but every inch urban London, Walthamstow is one of those rare locations where you can have your (artisan) cake and eat it too.

Built from proper East End roots, the rapidly expanding community has transformed the area into a buzzy, creative hub and destination in its own right, making Walthamstow’s close proximity to central London less relevant than it perhaps once was (although if you must leave, it’s only a short hop on the Victoria line or London Overground). In fact, these days you’re more likely to see daytrippers coming into the area, keen to sample its varied offerings of food, drink, culture and green space. However, lucky locals get the added benefit of being part of a genuinely cheery community – and amongst the first to know about that latest hot new opening.
