a word from the owner...

We have loved living in the Blackhorse Lane area - Conde Nast even named it in their recent "Best Places to Go in the UK 2024" list. Next door are the beautiful Walthamstow wetlands and River Lea canal, both offering an abundance of wildlife, rivers, paths and greenery to explore on foot or by bike. On weekends, we love taproom hopping on the 'Blackhorse Beer Mile' with its growing array of craft breweries, Renegades urban winery and the Burnt Faith brandy distillery. Most of the breweries feature a changing rota of street food vendors and the famous Slowburn restaurant is two minutes away. All venues are family and dog-friendly. Lloyd Park is also a favourite, with its weekend Farmers Market. Along with the area's distinctly friendly local feel and short hop to everything Walthamstow town centre has to offer, the commute into the city is fast via the Victoria Line and Overground - perfect for city workers and weekend day trips.

Our Local Guide:
Walthamstow

Blackhorse Lane, Walthamstow — Stow Brothers

Situated on the edge of spacious Epping Forest, but every inch urban London, Walthamstow is one of those rare locations where you can have your (artisan) cake and eat it too.

Built from proper East End roots, the rapidly expanding community has transformed the area into a buzzy, creative hub and destination in its own right, making Walthamstow’s close proximity to central London less relevant than it perhaps once was (although if you must leave, it’s only a short hop on the Victoria line or London Overground). In fact, these days you’re more likely to see daytrippers coming into the area, keen to sample its varied offerings of food, drink, culture and green space. However, lucky locals get the added benefit of being part of a genuinely cheery community – and amongst the first to know about that latest hot new opening.
