A gloriously bright and superbly spacious two double bedroom apartment on the first floor of a substantial Edwardian conversion, all sat mere moments from Epping Forest and a short stroll from the cafes and connections of Wood Street.

You've a wealth of vintage features here, starting with the ornate original cornicing above the front door and the handsome geometric tiling underfoot in your entrance hall.

IF YOU LIVED HERE...

You'll be stretching out in over 950 square feet of living space, with the generous room sizes and high ceilings of the period, this is a rare, exceptionally light and airy example of London apartment living. Your front reception features immaculate, pale cream walls up to the picture rail, blonde hardwood style vinyl underfoot and a gorgeous marbled mantelpiece and vintage heart taking centre stage. Full of light from the bay window and secondary sash, it's a tremendous welcome.

Next door's your first bedroom, generously sized once again at 160 square feet and complete with a row of floor to ceiling wardrobes. Your bathroom's decked out with smoky grey vinyl tiles underfoot, and flawless metro tilework all the way from tub to ceiling. Your kitchen continues the aesthetic in white and grey, while to the rear your second bedroom's another huge double; 180 square feet with a bay window framing leafy street views.

Outside and Wood Street station is around five minutes away on foot. From here it's a direct, twenty minute run to Liverpool Street, putting the City less than a half hour away door to door. Alternatively you can ride just one stop for Walthamstow Central and a quick hop to the Victoria line. Wood Street's also home to an ever evolving array of cafes, shops and restaurants. The Duke is renowned for a mouth watering range of burgers, The Wood Street Bakery is the spot for coffee connoisseurs and the indoor market is great for vintage finds.

a word from the owner...

"The property is in a wide tree lined street. The neigbours are very friendly. Community music events sprung up during lockdown and have continued. Lovely forest walks are accessible from behind Bisterne Avenue and Hollow Ponds is a short walk away. The local church, St Peter in the Forest, which has recently been beautifully refubished with lottery funding, has a cafe and offers lots of different activities for children and adults both in the church and in Peterhouse, the church hall. Wood street is a short walk away with cafe's, shops etc and Walthamstow Village is about 15 minutes walk with restaurants, bars and shops. In between is gods own junkyard, various breweries and a gin palace! Wood Street station is also a short walk away and takes 20 minutes to Liverpool Street and is one stop from Walthamstow Central, where you can connect to the Victoria Line."

Our Local Guide:
Walthamstow

Bisterne Avenue, Walthamstow — Stow Brothers

Situated on the edge of spacious Epping Forest, but every inch urban London, Walthamstow is one of those rare locations where you can have your (artisan) cake and eat it too.

Built from proper East End roots, the rapidly expanding community has transformed the area into a buzzy, creative hub and destination in its own right, making Walthamstow’s close proximity to central London less relevant than it perhaps once was (although if you must leave, it’s only a short hop on the Victoria line or London Overground). In fact, these days you’re more likely to see daytrippers coming into the area, keen to sample its varied offerings of food, drink, culture and green space. However, lucky locals get the added benefit of being part of a genuinely cheery community – and amongst the first to know about that latest hot new opening.
