a word from the owner...

"We have absolutely loved living in this house and surrounding area. It's where we started our family, so it will be genuinely emotional to leave. We are moving as our children are growing fast and we want to be closer to relatives. We chose the house knowing we were expecting our first child and were drawn to it's spacious, airy and bright layout. The wide hallway is really good for prams and bikes; and the large windows overlooking the park make it feel serene. There is also more storage space than we know what to do with! We've landscaped the garden, replaced the boiler, installed a new kitchen floor/tiles, and upgraded the back door to french windows. We spend a lot of time in the immediate area. The park opposite has great facilities including a toy library/baby classes, duck ponds and soon-to-be coffee shop. The street is quiet and peaceful, and we know most of our lovely neighbours by name (which is pretty rare in London!). We also like that we're walking distance to lots of great areas with cafes, bars, restaurants etc - Leytonstone, Leyton, Forest Gate, Stratford (hello, Westfield) - so we can pick where we want to hang out rather than stick to one area. Saying that, the Leytonstone Tavern and Dina wine bar are both on the doorstep and firm favourites of ours. When it comes to transport, the Elizabeth line from Maryland is within walking distance, as is Leyton tube station, which makes commuting into central London easier as there are multiple options. The highroad buses are around the corner too. We will be genuinely sad to leave this house - but it's time to pass it on to the next people to enjoy."

Our Local Guide:
Leytonstone

Birch Grove, Leytonstone — Stow Brothers

There’s more to Leytonstone than first meets the eye. Say the name to one person and they might think of the grand houses around Hollow Ponds, while say it to someone else and they’ll mention burgeoning South Leytonstone, or maybe the popular Bushwood. There are many different pockets, but they’re all united by the same inclusive community who recognise that it’s the balance of it all that makes Leytonstone so great.

The centre is arguably the high street with its eclectic shops and eateries, but you only have to venture slightly further away and you’ll come across hidden gems like bar Filly Brook on Grove Green Road, music venue Luna Lounge in Bushwood, or the The Hitchcock Hotel in Upper Leytonstone. Travel a little beyond and you’ll find further contrast with the vast green space that Hollow Ponds and the Wanstead Flats provide. Simply put, you’ll never get bored in Leytonstone.
