a word from the owner...

"Ever since I first set foot in the flat as a potential buyer, I have loved the warm sunlight it gets in the living space, and how it reflects on the balcony and the living room walls. I will really miss being so close to so much amazing food (Bánh Mì H?i-An, Bad Manners and Hoxton Fruit for some of the best Vietnamese sandwiches, tacos, and Turkish pastries in London respectively), entertainment (Hackney Empire and Picturehouse; Oslo, Moth Club and Paper Dress Vintage for music), drinks (beer and pizza at the Pembury Tavern on a Friday, Hackney Church Brewery at Bohemia place, and many others). Being within ten minutes of the two local parks, London Fields and Hackney Downs, has also been fantastic and a real life saver during Covid. I love how quiet the north west side of Hackney Downs is, while my wife loves the buzz of London Fields - which makes for lively conversations about where to go for a walk in the evenings or weekend mornings! Besides the parks, I've really felt that I'm in the centre of Hackney as I can easily walk to Dalston, Stoke Newington, Broadway Market, Clapton and the river Lea, and so on. This also makes the location super convenient from a practical point of view. I'm not sure that anywhere in Hackney is better connected - I have two overground lines just around the corner, with connection to Liverpool Street and to Highbury & Islington, and seven buses stopping on Amhurst Road."

Amhurst Road, Hackney — Stow Brothers

Where do you start with Hackney? It can feel like it’s all been said before, but, of course, it can’t have been because the area is constantly evolving, which is what keeps it so fresh. It’s just what happens when a neighbourhood has such a high population of creative innovators.

Even fans of Hackney’s scruffier edges love the imaginative ways that the area has been regenerated, with thoughtfully-designed stores, bars and coffee shops sitting comfortably alongside sleek architecture and beloved institutions such as Ridley Road Market.

Despite all this urban buzz, the area has a surprisingly large amount of green space, including Hackney Wick, Victoria Park and London Fields, which fill up with a mix of visitors and locals at weekends. Whether they go on to have food at a Michelin-starred restaurant, a pint in The Talbot or a swim in the lido, they’re all united in their love of this most unique community.
