a word from the owner...

"A stone’s throw from Francis Road, which we have loved, with its plethora of amazing coffee and independent shops, regular street parties and events, and of course the annual jumble trail! Easy access to transport options for commuting into central and for getting everywhere else on weekends - central line, great regular buses, overground and easy walking to Stratford International. Great local pubs, breweries and food venues that cover every cuisine, including regular one off pop ups at Loop and Host. We’ve loved our years living here in this exciting but peaceful and welcoming community. The flat itself has beautiful floors and high ceilings giving it an airy but cosy feel, and our ample garden has been a real highlight of life here, we regularly host big summer barbecues to make the most of it!"

Our Local Guide:
Leyton

Albert Road, Leyton — Stow Brothers

Assured locals barely bat an eyelid when the national press dub Leyton one of ‘best places to live’ in London – it’s been a regular feature since the 2012 London Olympics regeneration, but the area’s constant evolution means even frequent visitors can get taken aback by just how much it has going on.

With the lively cafes on Francis Road, the bustling High Road, the family-friendly footie action and easy access to the Olympic Park, Leyton can often feel like a city within a city. What’s more, these various layers work together to create a balanced community that comes free of any pretension, so even newbies can find themselves having a natter with the locals while they explore Leyton’s latest delights. It’s an easy reach too, with the Central line connecting Leyton with the city to the west, and leafy Essex to the east.

Transport links

There’s no ‘late’ in Leyton thanks to the excellent transport links. Leyton tube is on the Central line with direct trains into the City and Central London, while Leyton Midland Road is handily placed on the Overground line, as is the new-ish Lea Bridge station.

Great Pubs

Whether you want a quiet pint in the sunshine or a night of banging tunes, Leyton has you covered for pubs. With The Leyton Star, The Coach & Horses, William the Fourth, locals and visitors are spoilt for choice.

Plenty of period property

Leyton’s amenities might be largely new additions, but a lot of the property is gloriously old. Victorian and Edwardian houses are plentiful - including budget-friendly ‘doer-uppers’, and the wide tree-lined streets add further appeal.
