Within a few months you’ll also be able to enjoy the benefit of being just a few minutes on foot from the much anticipated Soho Theatre Walthamstow, which has been given a £30m investment as part of the council’s’ London Borough of Culture 2019 commitment to place culture at the heart of its communities’ (one of the reason’s we love Walthamstow so much).
- While you wait for the Soho Theatre Walthamstow to open, you can still enjoy some excellent entertainment at the wonderfully eclectic Trades Hall, a favoured spot for renowned comedians to perform warm-up sets. Ye Olde Rose & Crown also puts on some excellent shows, including annual pantos. Both venues are about eight mins on foot.
- If you want a change of scene from the park, head to Fellowship Square for its delightful fountains and community events organised by the local authority.

"I absolutely love this flat! The light, airy feel; the views all the way across London; the peace (it's so quiet!); the warmth; the security and peace of mind that it offers; the lovely neighbours... The building is designed with community in mind: it's one of those rare places in London where you actually get to know your neighbours, who are a genuinely lovely, respectful, professional group of people. Inside the flat, the large, French-style windows offer big skies year-round and give the impression of endless space, and they let in loads of light so it feels bright even in winter - that was a particular selling point for me. Additionally, the fact that it's south facing means you get sunlight and warmth pouring in from autumn through spring so heating use is kept to a minimum. Being on the 3rd floor means you get views across London: to Stratford and the Olympic Park, Canary Wharf, The City and even down to the BT Tower and the London Eye: I've loved watching London explode in colour on Bonfire Night and New Years Eve, and watching the colours change across the seasons. And what a great area, too. In Walthamstow you get the best of all worlds: a 20 minute tube ride into the heart of London; fantastic local shops and restaurants, the breweries of the 'beer mile' and lovely local parks; and Epping Forest on your doorstep. Situated on the edge of spacious Epping Forest, but every inch urban London, Walthamstow is one of those rare locations where you can have your (artisan) cake and eat it too. 

Built from proper East End roots, the rapidly expanding community has transformed the area into a buzzy, creative hub and destination in its own right, making Walthamstow’s close proximity to central London less relevant than it perhaps once was (although if you must leave, it’s only a short hop on the Victoria line or London Overground). In fact, these days you’re more likely to see daytrippers coming into the area, keen to sample its varied offerings of food, drink, culture and green space. However, lucky locals get the added benefit of being part of a genuinely cheery community – and amongst the first to know about that latest hot new opening.
