a word from the owner....

"We have absolutely loved living in this flat in Hackney Wick and will be incredibly sad to leave. We will really miss sitting on the balcony with a coffee in the morning! The area has really blossomed over the last few years, with so much on our doorstep now we find ourselves not needing to leave the area that often! Even with the new restaurants and bars we also love that Fish Island feels like a little oasis, very calm and quiet. If you are into food there are plenty of options to both eat in or take home, and if you like your beer there are over 4 breweries in walking distance! We've also loved living so close to two amazing large green parks - Victoria Park (which has a fabulous Sunday market) and the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. The transport links are great, travelling to central London is really easy and being close to Stratford International and also Westfield Stratford has been very useful! The neighbours are all lovely, and we have a shared WhatsApp group which is incredibly useful for any questions or recommendations."

Our Local Guide:

25 Rookwood Way, Hackney — Stow Brothers

Where do you start with Hackney? It can feel like it’s all been said before, but, of course, it can’t have been because the area is constantly evolving, which is what keeps it so fresh. It’s just what happens when a neighbourhood has such a high population of creative innovators.

Even fans of Hackney’s scruffier edges love the imaginative ways that the area has been regenerated, with thoughtfully-designed stores, bars and coffee shops sitting comfortably alongside sleek architecture and beloved institutions such as Ridley Road Market.

Despite all this urban buzz, the area has a surprisingly large amount of green space, including Hackney Wick, Victoria Park and London Fields, which fill up with a mix of visitors and locals at weekends. Whether they go on to have food at a Michelin-starred restaurant, a pint in The Talbot or a swim in the lido, they’re all united in their love of this most unique community.
